Police said three people were shot, including one person who died, in what is believed to have been a domestic-related incident in the Layhill area on Labor Day.
One female died and two other people were taken to hospitals, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
Police and fire and rescue personnel responded to the 14200 block of Punch St. at about 7:40 p.m. Monday for a reported shooting, according to MCPD. Officers found a man in the street with an apparent gunshot wound and he was taken to a hospital. Police said his condition is currently unknown.
Inside a residence, two females were found with apparent gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead and the other was taken to a hospital and her condition is currently unknown.
According to police, a man was taken into custody without incident. Police stated there is no threat to the community and the shooting is believed to have been a domestic-related incident.
MCPD said the name of the deceased female and the suspect will be released after notifying next of kin.
