Montgomery County Police identified the victim of a two-car collision on Norbeck Road as Altai Khaltar, 66, of Derwood.
According to police, Khaltar was driving a white 2012 Honda Pilot west on Norbeck Road just before Norwood Road when he hit the curb and crossed the center line and onto oncoming traffic. He then collided with a white 2019 Honda Pilot that was traveling east on Norbeck Road.
A third vehicle, which was traveling behind the 2019 Honda Pilot, was damaged from debris caused by the collision. The driver of that Nissan Rogue was not injured.

A driver was killed following a two-car collision Saturday evening on Norbeck Road near Norwood Road.
According to Montgomery County Police, at 7:36 p.m., the driver was headed westbound on Norbeck Road when he crossed onto oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle that was traveling eastbound. The driver of the vehicle that crossed onto oncoming traffic was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A passenger in the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Two people had to be extricated. One car ended up hanging partially off a bridge.
Once the driver’s next of kin have been notified, police expect to release his name.
