On Friday, 76 men and women aged 100 or more gathered at the Marriott Washingtonian Center in Gaithersburg for a well-deserved celebration. Organized by the county Recreation’s Senior Program Teams for a first of its kind recognition of their major life accomplishment, attendees were treated to heartfelt accolades and a free lunch.
During the celebration, County Executive Marc Elrich revealed a surprising outcome of the gathering.
