Police said a 16-year-old from Clarksburg has been charged as an adult in a Germantown shooting that happened in March.
Jaiden Ochieng has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and other charges, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
According to police, on March 13 Ochieng arrived at Archdale Road in Germantown in a stolen Hyundai. A 15-year-old male victim got off a school bus moments later and Ochieng got out of the car, chasing after him. Ochieng allegedly shot at the victim and then left. The victim was not injured, according to police.
Arriving officers found two shell casings in the Trophy Court/Archdale Road area. Detectives identified Ochieng as the suspect through investigation, according to police. Officers got an arrest warrant and arrested Ochieng last Friday on Copper Ridge Road in Germantown. Officers recovered a loaded stolen handgun that Ochieng had tossed before the arrest, according to police. The handgun was reported stolen from Clinton in Prince George’s County.
Ochieng is being held without bond. According to police, charges include attempted first-degree-murder, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a violent felony, theft-related charges, possession of a firearm on school property, possession of a loaded handgun, and underage possession of a firearm.
