The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service reports a power outage at Grovesnor House, 10101 Grovesnor Place in Rockville. At least 1000 residents and their pets who live in the 400 apartments in the building are displaced.
An electrical fire on the 9th floor caused the power outage. The sprinkler system put out the fire and no residents are reported as injured.
The county is offering shelter in Bethesda as needed. And the Red Cross has arrived on the scene to assist.
