Two drivers were arrested in connection with a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred April 5 on Randolph Road in Colesville.
Thanh Phan, 71, of Silver Spring, and Jose Saravia Gonzalez, of Silver Spring, were charged with criminally negligent manslaughter by vehicle.
According to Montgomery County Police, Phan was traveling west on Randolph Road near Kimblewick Drive at 10:12 p.m. when she drove onto the sidewalk and struck Ron Franzese, 52, of Silver Spring, who was walking there.
The collision caused Franzese to fall into the road. He was then struck by Gonzalez, who fled the scene.
Phan drove back onto the highway, crossed three lanes and then collided with a tree, according to police. Phan was arrested Nov. 25 and ordered held without bond.
Gonzalez was arrested Dec. 2.
