Montgomery County has announced two fireworks displays to celebrate Independence Day.
On Saturday, July 1 at 6 p.m., Mid-County Sparkles will host music and fireworks at Albert Einstein High School, 11135 Newport Mill Road in Kensington.
On Tuesday, July 4, Germantown Glory will begin at 7 p.m. at South Germantown Recreational Park, 18041 Central Park Circle.
“We are thrilled to bring this wonderful tradition of fireworks and celebrations back again for 2023,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “It is such a wonderful way to bring everyone together to celebrate both our local community and our County’s independence. I hope you have a safe and happy July Fourth.”
On site parking is limited to individuals with disabilities. Free parking and shuttle service will be provided starting at 5:30 p.m. from Westfield Wheaton, 11160 Veirs Mill Road.
Germantown Glory kicks off with a concert by Forever Tina, a tribute band to the late queen of rock and roll, Tina Turner. On-site parking is available.
Both fireworks displays will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Lawn chairs, blankets and coolers are welcome at both events. There will be food vendors at both locations. Alcoholic beverages and pets are not permitted.
