Two Hyattsville men are accused of a Jan. 19 armed carjacking at the Summit Hills Apartments on 16th Street in Silver Spring .
According to Montgomery County Police, a suspect fired a round into the air in an attempt to scare the victim and then stole the victim’s grey BMW 328i.
Police determined that two men arrived in a white Dodge Ram 1500, carjacked the victim, and then both suspects fled, one in the BMW and the other in the Dodge Ram.
Alexi Torres, 21, of Hyattsville, is believed to be the driver of the Dodge Ram, according to police.
On Jan. 27, police observed a man wearing clothing seen on surveillance video from the carjacking and took Ludwin Barrientos, 18, of Hyattsville, into custody. He is charged with armed carjacking, armed robbery, first degree assault and use of a handgun in a felony.
Torres currently is in custody in Prince George’s County on stolen auto and weapons charges. He has also been charged with armed carjacking, armed robbery, firse degree assault and use of a handgun in a felony for the carjacking in Silver Spring.
Both men are being held without bond.
