Police said two men were arrested and charged for a homicide that occurred earlier this month in Silver Spring.
Javier Reyes, 21, of Silver Spring and Brian Gaitan-Sanchez, 20, of Bladensburg were arrested Tuesday and are accused of killing 20-year-old Walter Woods, of Takoma Park, per a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
MCPD said the homicide occurred March 7 in the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Lane. According to a previous release, officers responded to the location for a reported shooting and found Woods suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Reyes and Gaitan-Sanchez were identified as suspects through investigation, police said. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant Monday for both men, charging them with first-degree murder.
A warrant was executed at their homes Tuesday and the men were arrested.
Police said they are being held without bond.
