Montgomery County Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Sunoco gas station in the 8300 block of Colesville Road in Silver Spring on Wednesday at 1:13 p.m.
According to police, two Black males entered the Sunoco and used the lottery machine. They then requested help from an employee, who left the secured cashier area and entered the main store. As soon as the employee opened the door, the suspects forced their way into the cashier area while displaying a handgun.
The suspects then tied the employee’s hands, stole cash and fled on foot, according to police.
The suspect who displayed the handgun is described as a Black male, about 40 years old with a stocky build. He wore a red baseball hat, white T-shirt and blue jeans that had rips in the knees.
Police described the other suspect as a Black male, about 40 years old with a medium build. He was wearing a black Nike sweatband around a gray and white baseball cap, white T-shirt and black shorts.
Police have surveillance photos of the two men.
