Ruben Ramirez, of Laurel, 19, and Darrell Alvin Brown, 20, of Germantown, have been arrested and charged with an armed carjacking and robbery they allegedly committed on Tuesday in Silver Spring,
At 2 a.m., Montgomery County police officers responded to the 1900 block of East West Highway following a report of an armed carjacking.
Following an investigation, police reported that an adult male victim had just parked his 2021 Toyota Camry and was walking tohis apartment building when he was approached by three males.
One of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s car keys. The victim gave them. Then the other two suspects demanded his phone, which he also handed over, according to police.
The victim then ran to his apartment and called police, and the suspects drove away.
On Wednesday, the vehicle and two of the suspects, later identified as Ramirez and Brown, were located. They were taken into custody without incident. At the time of the arrest, officers found a Glock 43 Gen X 9mm handgun near the front passenger seat.
Ramirez and Brown were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit where they have been charged with armed robbery, armed carjacking, assault and multiple counts of theft and firearm related charges.
They are currently being held without bond.
Police continue to search for the third suspect.
