Police said two 19-year-olds died after a single-vehicle crash Saturday in North Bethesda.
At about 4:07 a.m. Saturday, occupants in a 2012 Infiniti G37 crashed into a utility pole on Montrose Road near Hitching Post Lane, per a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
“For reasons still under investigation,” police said, control was lost and occupants struck the center median, left the road, hit a fire hydrant, electrical control box and other objects before they crashed into the utility pole.
Leslie Kristin Ventura, 19, of Germantown was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a passenger in the car.
Kailey Briana Vigil, 19, of Rockville, died Monday after succumbing to her injuries. She was also a passenger, police said.
The driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Police said a third passenger left the scene before officers arrived.
