Police said two women, including a Germantown woman, were arrested and charged in an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting an ex-boyfriend.
Adelaida Consuelo Zacarias Chacon, 53, of Germantown, is charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree solicitation to commit murder, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD). Reyna Gomez Lopez, 40, of Philadelphia, is charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder.
Both women were taken into custody by county task force officers assigned to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, according to police.
A case worker with the county Sheriff’s Office Family Justice Center contacted detectives in June, according to police. The worker received information that Zacarias Chacon tried to hire someone to kill her ex-boyfriend. Detectives found communications between the two women indicating that Zacarias Chacon paid Gomez Lopez $1,000 to find someone who would commit the murder. The women are former sisters-in-law.
Detectives discovered a bank transfer confirming the payment.
