2024 General Election 6th Congressional District

Voters will elect a new representative for Maryland’s 6th Congressional District. The seat, currently held by Rep. David Trone (D-Potomac), is open as he ran for the U.S. Senate but lost to Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks in the Democratic primary. The 6th District covers Garrett, Allegany, Frederick, Washington counties, and part of northwestern Montgomery County.

U.S. Representatives serve two-year terms, with no term limits. Maryland is divided into eight congressional districts, out of the 435 total across the United States.
