“21 This Week” host Casey Aiken comments on some of the new laws taking effect July 1 in Maryland. At the top of his list is the legalization of recreational cannabis.
Aiken talks about the following five new laws or tax increase:
- Recreational use of marijuana becomes legal on Saturday.
- Minimum wage increases 6% from $12.50 to $13.25 per hour.
- State subsidies for electric vehicles continue.
- Expansion of health care for abortion services.
- Maryland is 11th state to declare itself to be a sanctuary state for gender affirming health care.
“21 This Week” is on hiatus for the July 4 Independence Day holiday and returns with a show on Sunday, July 9. “21 This Week” airs on Channels 21 and 995 on Sundays at 11 a.m. and again at 7 p.m.; Mondays at noon and again at 8 p.m.; Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. and again at 8:30 p.m.
