The Montgomery County Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood hosts the 29th Annual Montgomery Parks Harvest Festival Saturday, Oct. 7.
The Harvest Festival serves as a historical celebration that looks into the past, present, and future of farming at the 455-acre park.
The park showcases farm animals, rolling hills, and an apple orchard — which all reveal unique aspects of Montgomery County farming. Additionally, the park is known for its scenic backgrounds for photography and sightseeing.
The festival includes numerous activities for its attendees, including scarecrow building, pumpkin painting, candle making and other types of arts and crafts.
For those not into crafts, they will have the ability to take hayrides or listen to live music.
The fair also focuses on animal care. Spectators can see cows, pigs, and chickens, and learn about the farm’s animal history while also gaining an understanding of the animal care the park takes pride in today.
The park is located at 18400 Muncaster Road in Derwood, and the cost of admission is $20 per car.
The festival begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m.
