Three food distribution events are scheduled for Saturday, August 8. Two in Silver Spring and one in Germantown.
All three will begin at 10 a.m. and operate until noon.
The first in Silver Spring, taking place at Francis Scott Key Middle School at 910 Schindler Drive, is a drive-thru style “grab & go.” They have an inventory of 300 boxes, and are allowing one service per car until supplies run out. It’s sponsored by the Asociación Civica Nicaragúense in partnership with the county.

The second, happening at the East County Community Recreation Center at 3310 Gateshead Manor Way, is also a grab and go, though both drive-thru and walk-up are allowed. This is event is sponsored by Kingdom Fellowship A.M.E. Church’s Kingdom Cares program—in partnership with many other organizations including Montgomery County Recreation, Holy Cross Health, Montgomery County Public Schools and councilmember Will Jawando.
The third distribution, taking place in Germantown at Northwest High School at 13501 Ritcher Farm Road, is drive-up grab produce and meal distribution while supplies last. Volunteers will place the food in the trunk of each car, which can then drive away. This event is sponsored by the American Diversity Group and the Shirdi Saibaba Temple in Maryland.
