Four Arrested with Guns, Including Ghost Gun, Following Separate Traffic Stops

Two adults and two juveniles were arrested Tuesday for illegally possessing firearms and controlled dangerous substances following two separate traffic stops, according to Montgomery County Police.

Police announced that they arrested Javier Reyes, 19,of Hyattsville,  and Alexander Sandeep Borge, 19, of Riverdale. They did not name the juveniles but said they were from Riverdale and College Park.

On June 9 at 8 p,m., police observed the driver of a black 2020 Hyundai Elantra commit a traffic violation while he was traveling north on Georgia Avenue near Blueridge Avenue in the Wheaton-Glenmont area. Police said Reyes was driving the car.

Police said they obtained probable cause to search the car, where they found marijuana and a loaded Ruger LC9 9mm handgun.

After searching Reyes, police found what they believed to be cocaine and a bag they believe contained Oxycodone pills. He was charged with illegal possession of a firearm and controlled dangerous substance-related charges.

On June 14 at 5:30 p.m., police stopped the driver of a black 2018 Nissan Altima with expired Maryland registration plates. This was on Georgia Avenue and Bel Pre Road. While approaching the car, police saw a large glass jar with marijuana in the back seat. A search then revealed a loaded privately made firearm – a ghost gun – with an extended magazine, a loaded stolen Kahr 45 caliber handgun, another loaded 9 mm magazine and a large quantity of marijuana.

There were three people in the car. Two were 16 years old, and the other was Borge. All three were arrested and charged with illegal possession of a firearm and controlled dangerous substance related charges. The two juvenile males were charged as adults.
