The Washington Post honored four Montgomery County athletes as their Spring 2024 All-Met Players of the Year Thursday.
Olympic hopeful Quincy Wilson, a sophomore track athlete at the Bullis School in Potomac, headlined the group. Wilson clocked a blazing 45.13 second time in the 400m and a 1:50.44 in the 800m this past season.
In girls’ lacrosse, Hannah Rudolph, a senior midfielder at Good Counsel in Olney, took home player of the year honors. The Northwestern commit led Good Counsel to an undefeated season, winning conference player of the year along the way.
It was a clean sweep for Montgomery County in lacrosse, as Anthony Panetti of Landon took home the award on the boys’ side. The senior attacker scored three goals and added an assist in a 17-6 blowout of Georgetown Prep in the championship game. Panetti will head to Bucknell in the fall.
The final Montgomery County athlete honored was Aiden Dubetsky, a senior utility player for Georgetown Prep baseball. The two-way star dominated both on the mound and at the plate, recording an in-conference ERA of 0.55 while recording a 1.200 OPS at the dish. Dubetsky signed to play at Amherst College in the fall.
