Four people were displaced in an apartment fire around 5:40 a.m. Thursday morning on Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village.
According to County Fire and Rescue Service Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the fire was accidental and started in a bedroom closet on the third floor of the three-story building. It was caused by combustibles being too close to a heat source.
There were no injuries, according to Piringer. Two kids were asleep in the bedroom of origin before they were assisted. A hallway smoke alarm alerted someone in another bedroom. Two adults and two children were displaced.
More than 75 firefighters responded, according to Piringer. Damage is estimated to be more than $125,000.
