Four people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash sent both vehicles plummeting 40 feet down an embankment along Clara Barton Parkway near Cabin John Parkway, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS).
The incident occurred Saturday at 7:30 p.m., when two vehicles veered off the highway, causing them to tumble down the embankment, MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer said.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and conducted a slope rescue to evacuate the injured individuals.
All four victims were transported to the hospital.
Three were classified as Priority 2 trauma patients, indicating serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the fourth was categorized as Priority 3, meaning minor injuries, Piringer said on X.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
