The Floating Pumpkin Patch, planned by Montgomery County Recreation, is an event for kids to swim in a pool with pumpkins and then decorate them.
Children between the ages of two through 12 are eligible to participate for $5. The one-and-a-half-hour events will have art stations for pumpkin decorating. For the first hour, the pool will be open for swimming with pumpkins. Adults must accompany children under 5-years-old in the pool.
The Floating Pumpkin Patches will be held five times this month at different locations:
- Oct. 20 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Germantown Indoor Swim Center
- Oct. 21 from 4:30-6 p.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Swim Center
- Oct. 27 from 7:30-9 p.m. at Olney Swim Center
- Oct. 28 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center
- Oct. 29 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center
The event on Oct. 29 is for children with disabilities between the ages of two to 15.
Registration is required for participation.
