The 75th County Agricultural Fair kicks off in two days, promising nine days of fun-filled activities and entertainment. Here are five things you need to know:
Admission and Parking
General admission tickets are $15 on-site and $12 online. Children 11 and under are free. Free same-day readmission with a hand stamp. Parking is $15 per car at the Fairgrounds, 501 Perry Parkway Entrance. Free parking and shuttle bus service are available from Montgomery College Rockville Campus, 51 Mannakee Street, and Lakeforest Mall.
Free Shows and Events
The Pepco Community Stage features free entertainment, including magic shows, musical performances, and entertaining acts. Highlights include a Vegas-style hypnosis show, an interactive trivia game show, an extreme illusions and escapes act, and a circus performance that will amaze audiences of all ages.
Contests
Participate in various contests such as the “My Best Fair Photo,” with four themed contests throughout the week, the “Amateur Cheese Carving Contest” on August 12, and a fashion design competition on August 10 sponsored by G Street Fabrics. The Fair Foodie Awards take place on August 9 at 6 p.m., showcasing the best culinary creations.
Promotional Days
Special promotional days offer discounts and unique experiences: Carnival one-day ride wristbands are $25 for Family Day on Aug. 12 and 14. Free admission for senior citizens ages 62+ until 5 p.m. on Aug. 12 and free admission for active military in uniform or with a valid military ID until 5 p.m. on August 15.

Renegade Monster Truck Tour: Wednesday, August 14, and Thursday, August 15 at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy big air jumps by trucks like Killer Bee, Stinger Unleashed, and War Wizard. A pit party starts an hour before the show, offering autographs and photo opportunities with the drivers and their trucks for ticket holders.
Demolition Derby “Night of Destruction”: Friday, August 16, and Saturday, August 17 at 7:30 p.m. Watch drivers smash their vehicles into each other until only one remains operational.
The Carnival: Enjoy classic carnival rides, games, and delicious treats for the whole family. Ride wristbands are sold separately and do not include fair admission.

Update Friday, Aug. 9 at 9:30 a.m. Fair organizers delayed the planned Aug. 9 opening due to the inclement weather. The Fair now is scheduled to open on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 10 a.m.
