1. Schools Closed: Montgomery County Public Schools and offices are closed today.
2. County Offices Closed: Most county offices and facilities are closed today to observe Memorial Day. Here’s the schedule:

3. Rockville Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade: A ceremony to remember those who gave their lives for our freedoms starts at 9 a.m. and is followed by the annual parade at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony takes place at Rockville Town Center. The parade starts at Martins Lane and N. Washington St. Roads around the parade route begin closing at 6 a.m. and reopen at 2 p.m. Joyce Tian, the fourth-grade student selected as Rockville’s Mayor for a Day will ride in the parade.
4. Car-free Streets Extended: Sections of Beach Drive, Sligo Creek Parkway, and Little Falls Parkway will remain open to pedestrians and bicyclists today. Details are available here.

5. Water Safety Event: The cities of Gaithersburg and Rockville are jointly hosting Water Safety day on Friday, June 2 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Water Park at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg.
