1. Council Media Briefing: Council President Tom Hucker and Congressman Anthony Brown will hold a media briefing today at 11:30 a.m. to discuss Montgomery County’s infrastructure and transportation priorities, followed by a discussion of the Council’s ongoing review of the County’s Fiscal Year 2022 Operating Budget.
2. Investing for Women: The libraries are hosting a series of virtual discussions with Suzanne McGovern, from the SEC’s Office of Investor Education. Topics include things you should know before investing, how to mitigate risk, investment products, how to choose an investment professional and special challenges to consider for women investors. Today’s webinar starts at 2 p.m.
3. Municipal Monday: Gaithersburg’s Mayor and Council meet virtually at 7:30 p.m. in a closed session. The agenda indicates the discussion will be about common community ownership. The Rockville Mayor and Council meet virtually at 6 p.m. and continue their work on the fiscal 2022 operating budget.
4. Racial Equity Discussion: Montgomery Community Media and the County Council discuss microaggressions in a special presentation of #SeeMeMontgomery. A microagression is defined as: “A statement, action or incident regarded as an instance of indirect, subtle or unintentional.” Watch the conversation here:
5. Spring Plant Sales: Montgomery Parks is selling plants during Earth Month at the Locust Grove Nature Center, Maydale Nature Classroom and Friends of Black Hill Nature Programs. Plant sales are offered online with no-contact pick-up appointments. Available plants include household indoor and outdoor plants and native species.
