1. The Comus Inn: The Comus Inn in Dickerson will open starting today, according to its website, and is now taking reservations for dinner and weekend lunch.
2. County Council: The county council will meet at 9 a.m., beginning with proclamations for Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 15th Anniversary of the Gaithersburg Book Festival. See the agenda here. Watch the meeting streamed live here.
3. Education Budget Forum: Councilmember Will Jawando will hold a community forum on the county’s education budget for the coming fiscal year. He will be joined by Montgomery College President Jermaine Williams and MCPS Interim Superintendent Monique Felder tonight at Blair High School at 6 p.m. Submit questions ahead of the forum here.
4. Free Cone Day: Ben & Jerry’s celebrates the day with free ice cream between 12-8 p.m. at a variety of locations. In the county, the Ellsworth Drive location in downtown Silver Spring and the Rockville Center Ice Cream Shop (199-F East Montgomery Avenue) will participate in the promotion, according to the Ben & Jerry’s website.
5. ICYMI: Residents are encouraged to turn in their unwanted guns — no questions asked — in exchange for $100-$200 gift cards. The gun buyback event is Saturday, April 20 at the United Church of Christ of Seneca Valley in Germantown.
