1. Youth In Power Event: From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., nonprofits will host Youth In Power: Brave Spaces for All Ages at the Silver Spring Civic Center. The free event will provide a one-stop informational forum for families and individuals to learn about youth programs and resources. See more here.

5. ICYMI: Residents are encouraged to turn in their unwanted guns — no questions asked — in exchange for $100-$200 gift cards. The gun buyback event is this coming Saturday at the United Church of Christ of Seneca Valley in Germantown.
