1. County Council: The county council will meet today starting at 12:45 p.m. with separate proclamations recognizing Earth Day, Minority Health Month, and ALS Awareness Month. See the agenda here. Watch the meeting livestream here.
2. Plans Announced for 2nd Juneteenth Scotland Festival: From June 15 to June 19, Juneteenth celebrations are planned in Potomac and Bethesda to honor the 80 historic Black communities that once flourished in Montgomery County.
3. Proposed Sidewalk: At 7 p.m. the county transportation department will hold a virtual public hearing on proposed sidewalks providing a walkway to Forest Knolls Elementary School on parts of Marvin Road, Ladson Road, and Edgewood Avenue. Registration is required.

5. ICYMI: After the owners of White’s Ferry offered to donate the ferry and its operation to Montgomery County in an effort to resume service, County Executive Marc Elrich forecasts it will still take about a year to get it operational. Fair Access Committee Chair Link Hoewing says that after many announcements and more than three years with no ferry service, people in the area are cautious about any new announcement.
And One More Thing: Passover is an important Jewish holiday that celebrates the Israelites’ escape from slavery in Eqypt. The holiday is observed from the evening of Monday, April 22, to Tuesday, April 30.
