Today is Monday, April 25 and here are five things to know happening in Montgomery County today.
1. Council President Briefing: Council President Gabe Albornoz and Public Health Manager Sean O’Donnell will hold a media briefing today at 12:30 p.m. to discuss Council matters and and provide a public health update. The briefing will be streamed on the Council’s Facebook page here.
2. Council Committee Work: Four of the six council committees meet today to continue work on the operating budget for 2023. All sessions are televised live on County Cable Montgomery and streamed on YouTube.
- Planning, Housing and Economic Development (PHED) Committee meets at 9:30 a.m. Watch the meeting streamed live on YouTube.

3. Helping Seniors Avoid Scams: The county is hosting free seminars to discuss common schemes, scams and other types of financial exploitation targeting seniors during April. Today, the presentation takes place at Holiday Park Senior Center in Silver Spring from 1 to 2 p.m.
4. Municipal Monday: The Gaithersburg Mayor and Council meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. for a work session. The agenda and information packet may be found online. The Rockville Mayor and Council meet at 7 p.m. The agenda and information may be found online.
5. Health and Human Services Community Conversation: The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is holding a series of community conversations. The conversations aim to let residents know about the services DHHS provide and get input on issues and services most important. Tonight’s conversation is being held virtually from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Join the meeting here.
