It’s Wednesday, April 26, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.
1. Drug Takeback: Montgomery College will host a Prescription Drug Takeback Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lockboxes will be available at all three college campuses outside the Public Safety office.
2. Narcan Training: From 3-4 p.m., the county’s Department of Health and Human Services will offer free Narcan training at the Universities of Shady Grove. Register online.
3. University Boulevard Corridor Plan: From 7-9 p.m., the planning department will hold a workshop on the University Boulevard Corridor Plan focused on the area from I-495 to Dennis Avenue. The meeting is in-person at Montgomery Blair High School. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP.

4. Group Bike Riding: Montgomery Parks’ “Roots to Rocks” free group bike riding meets from 5-7 p.m. to ride at Northwest Branch Trail. The activity is for ages six and up. Register online.

5. ICYMI: Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) Chief Scott Goldstein will move on from the department after more than 30 years serving the community. Goldstein, who was born and raised in Montgomery County, reflected on his decades with MCFRS.
