It’s Friday, April 8 and here are five things to know today in Montgomery County.
1. Celebrate Maryland Breweries: The Brewers Association of Maryland will host Love Thy Beer, a beer-tasting event featuring live music and local breweries. The event runs 6-10 p.m. April 8 at the Silver Spring Civic building.
2. Helping Seniors Avoid Scams: The county is hosting free seminars to discuss common schemes, scams and other types of financial exploitation targeting seniors during April. Today, watch a virtual presentation hosted by the Rockville Senior Center from 10 to 11 a.m. Register here.
3. Job Fairs: The county recreation department is looking to fill part-time summer position and is holding two job fairs Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The locations are the Upper County Community Recreation Center in Gaithersburg and the Executive Office Building in Rockville. Scheduling an interview is encouraged.
4. National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade: The parade runs from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 9. The Metropolitan Police posted the list of street closures online.

5. Earth Month Cleanups: Join the city of Rockville to cleanup the Maryvale Park stream Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to noon; register here. And then on Sunday, April 10, join the cleanup of the Fallsgrove Park Stream from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Register here.
