1. Book Vending Machine: Just like using a soda or snack machine, at William Tyler Page Elementary School a student inserts the coin, types in the number of a book and then – plunk – a brand-new book is the students to keep. Full story here.
2. Council Meeting: The county council will meet today starting at 9 a.m. The meeting will be livestreamed on YouTube @MoCoCouncilMD.
3. Curbside Recycling: By the end of the year, all households with curbside recycling services through the county will be able to recycle electronics and batteries, too. Full story here.
4. Hands Off Rallies: On Saturday, thousands of county residents joined Hands Off rallies to protest the policies of the current administration.
5. ICYMI: Last Monday was the annual International Transgender Day of Visibility. Community members and organizations gathered in Bethesda to celebrate the transgender community.
