1. Freeze Warning: The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for Montgomery County and nearby areas until 9 a.m.
2. Drop in Respiratory Viruses: The flu, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and Covid-19 still get some people sick in the region. 3. Council Meeting: The Takoma Park City Council will have a meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Takoma Park Community Center. The meeting can be viewed in-person, on YouTube, the City Council video webpage, Facebook, or City TV. See the meeting agenda here.
4. Book Vending Machine: Just like using a soda or snack machine, at William Tyler Page Elementary School a student inserts the coin, types in the number of a book and then – plunk – a brand-new book is the students to keep. Full story here.
5. ICYMI: By the end of the year, all households with curbside recycling services through the county will be able to recycle electronics and batteries, too. Full story here.
