1. Hyundai Software Update: The Montgomery County Police Department and Hyundai are installing a software upgrade to help prevent auto thefts. County residents with Hyundai vehicles can get a free software upgrade Friday through Sunday at Paint Branch High School in Burtonsville.

2. Cheering for Katie: Bethesda native Katie Ledecky wins her 13th Olympic medal in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay Thursday. Ledecky has one race remaining with the 800 meter freestyle still to come. Prelims for the event will take place Friday.

Caribbean-American Heritage Festival: Cultures from Haiti, Panama, Dominican Republic, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Lucia and Grenada will be featured Saturday at the Caribbean-American festival and resource fair. The event takes place at the Marian Fryer Town Plaza in Wheaton from 2 to 7 p.m.

And One More Thing: The fall recreation guide’s digital version will be available starting Friday, Aug. 2. Registration opens Monday, Aug. 12 for most programs and activities.
