1. Pedestrian Safety: The MCDOT Pedestrian Safety Team will be at this Capt. Daly ES back-to-school event to promote pedestrian and bike safety to the school community from 1 to 3 p.m. The school is located at 20301 Brandermill Drive
Germantown.
2. Pet Adoption: Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC) in Derwood has reached a dangerous capacity for animals of all types. To help inspire adoptions, the shelter is waiving adoption fees for the next 100 pets adopted by Thursday, Aug. 24.

3. Summer Concert: The concerts take place on Thursday evenings, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the grounds of City Hall.
4. Food Distribution: by East County Hub/Kingdom Cares from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Greencastle Elementary School.
5. (ICYMI): MCPS sets a goal of reducing absenteeism.
