1. Santa Rides With Police: Santa will be riding with the county police department today on the way to the Children’s Inn at NIH. See the stops along the ride below.
2. Takoma Park City Council: The Takoma Park City Council will have a meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. with the District 20 Delegation for a legislative priorities session at the Takoma Park Community Center. The regular city council meeting is scheduled to start at 9:15 p.m. The meeting can be viewed in-person, on YouTube, the City Council video webpage, Facebook, or City TV. See the meeting agenda here.

3. Blood Drive: The county police department invites residents to a Red Cross Blood Drive in honor of Officer Noah Leotta, who was struck and killed by a drunk driver in 2015 while working as part of the Holiday Alcohol Task Force. The blood drive is 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at Public Safety Headquarters at 100 Edison Park Drive in Gaithersburg. Those who want to donate blood can register here.

4. Free Fitness Passes Extended: Fitness passes for county recreation centers will continue to be free for residents next year.
5. ICYMI: On the third floor of the Silver Spring library that bears his name, Brigadier General Charles McGee was honored posthumously with a memorial honoring his military service as well as his work to mentor young people and reduce barriers.
