1. On-the-Spot Admissions: From 3-6 p.m. at Richard Montgomery High School, representatives from several universities and local and regional colleges will offer on-the-spot admissions to Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) seniors.

2. Council Meeting: The county council will meet today starting at 9 a.m. with separate proclamations recognizing Rosa Parks Day and the Olney Chamber of Commerce’s 60th Anniversary. The meeting will be livestreamed here.

3. Executive Office Building to be Renamed: The Executive Office Building on Monroe Street in Rockville will be renamed after former County Executive Isiah “Ike” Leggett, Council President Andrew Friedson announced Monday.

4. Officer Vacancy Rate: There is a 13% vacancy rate for sworn Montgomery County Police officers, and it could worsen during 2025 when 30 officers are eligible to retire when the department’s enhanced retirement plan goes into effect.
