There is a winter weather advisory until 3 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 22. and here are five more things to know in Montgomery County:
1. County COVID-19 Testing Clinics: Free COVID-19 testing is available throughout the county at five testing sites today.
2. Council Media Briefing: Council President Tom Hucker and Vice President Gabe Albornoz will hold a media briefing today at 11 a.m. to discuss the Covid-19 vaccine rollout, the Maryland RELIEF Act, expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit, and efforts to increase clean energy in the county.
3. Municipal Monday: Gaithersburg’s Mayor and Council meet virtually for a planning retreat session at 6 p.m. Here are the agenda and link to register to listen to the meeting. Rockville’s Mayor and Council meet virtually at 7 p.m., here’s the agenda.
4. COVID-19 Vaccine Town Hall: County Executive Mark Elrich, Councilmembers Will Jawando and Craig Rice host a virtual town hall Monday, Feb. 22 focused on “The Black Community and the COVID-19 Vaccine: Why Acceptance of the Vaccine is Important.” Community members will be able to ask questions and nat register to join the Zoom meeting. The meeting will be broadcast live on several County cable channels include County Cable Montgomery (Channel CCM), MCPS, MCM, Takoma Park, MMC, MC and Rockville 11. The meeting also will be streamed at www.ConnectMontgomery.com, on the County’s website, on the County’s Facebook page and the County YouTube channel.
5. County Climate Action Plan: The League of Women Voters Trending Topic series continues with a look at the recently released Climate Action Plan for Montgomery County at 7 p.m. Register for the webinar online.
