Today is Friday, Jan. 21 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.
1. N95 Masks and Rapid Covid-19 Test Kits: Starting today, the county is distributing free N95 face masks along with rapid COVID-19 tests at 19 library branches. Residents will be limited to four masks per adult and they will be distributed at the same times and locations as rapid test pickup. Locations and hours may be found here.
2. COVID-19 Vaccinations: Montgomery County is offering vaccinations and boosters at numerous sites. Appointments are required and may be made online at the county’s Covid-19 vaccine webpage.

3. Health Insurance: The deadline to enroll for a health plan through Maryland Health Connection has been extended to Feb. 28.
Open enrollment for private health plans will continue on Maryland Health Connection through Feb. 28 in light of the ongoing public health emergency.

4. Food Distribution: UpCounty Hub Drive-thru distribution from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Mother Seton Parish, 19951 Father Hurley Blvd. Germantown. Interfaith Works distribution from 11 a.m. to 12:3o p.m. with walk ups from noon to 12:30 p.m. Located at 751 Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville. On Saturday, distributions are scheduled for Silver Spring and Gaithersburg. On Sunday distributions are scheduled for Rockville and Silver Spring. Information about each event is available on the county food resources webpage.
5. (ICYMI) Maryland Income Tax Extension: For the third year in a row, Maryland residents will have until July 15 to file and pay their state income taxes. Comptroller Peter Franchot made the announcement Wednesday morning.
