Today is Friday, Jan. 28 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.
1. N95 Masks and Rapid Covid-19 Test Kits: The county is distributing free N95 face masks along with rapid COVID-19 tests at 19 library branches today and Saturday. Residents are limited to four masks per adult and they will be distributed at the same times and locations as rapid test pickup. Locations and hours may be found here.
2. Community Services Grants: The deadline for nonprofits to apply for the county’s community services grants is today at 5 p.m. Grants of up to $10,000 are available.
3. COVID-19 Vaccinations: Montgomery County is offering vaccinations and boosters at numerous sites. Appointments are required and may be made online at the county’s Covid-19 vaccine webpage.

4. Fourth Friday Forum: The Montgomery County Council of Parent Teacher Associations is hosting a series of virtual forums on the fourth Friday of each month. The first forum happens today starting at 7 p.m. and focuses on the trauma COVID has caused our children. Registration is required.
5. Women’s Legislative Briefing: The briefing will be held virtually this Sunday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. and focuses on women and the power of their vote. To register for the briefing, click here.
