1. CE Elrich Positive for COVID-19: County Executive Marc Elrich tested positive for COVID-19 Saturday. So far he is experiencing mild symptoms.
2. Winter Weather: The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Winter Weather Warning through 1 p.m. today. Capital Weather Gang (CWG) predicts that some areas could see up to 9 inches of snow.

3. Weather Closes Schools: Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is closed today due to the expected severe weather.
MCPS will be CLOSED, Monday, Jan. 3, due to expected severe weather conditions. All school & community activities in school buildings also are canceled. All school administrative offices & central offices will open on a two-hour delay. More: https://t.co/SRr7P29vpa

4. New Parking Rates: Rate changes in Montgomery County-operated garages, parking lots, and street meters will begin today and continue to fluctuate through April.
5. Winter Storm Tips: The Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security wants to prepare residents for winter weather. The office created a list of terms to know and tips about what to do before and during extremely cold temperatures or snowstorms.
