Today is Friday, July 2, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County:
1. Germantown Mass Vaccination Site: This is the last day this vaccination site will operate. The County is relocating the vaccination site to the Upcounty Regional Services Center beginning on July 6.
2. Food Assistance: Montgomery County has two food distribution events today. The first is the Interfaith Works HUB food distribution from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (drive through from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., walk ups from noon to 12:30 p.m.) at 751 Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville. The second event is the St. John’s Nourishing Bethesda Family Food Program at 5020 Battery Lane in Bethesda from 1 to 3 p.m. Check the county’s website here for more food distribution events this weekend.
3. Live Music at the Streetery: Tonight the acoustic grunge group from Baltimore ilyAIMY is scheduled to perform in Bethesda. The Bethesda Urban Partnership hosts live music every Friday night from 6 to 8 p.m. through September 24. The concerts will take place at the corner of Cordell and Norfolk Avenues within the Bethesda Streetery. Tables and chairs are available at the Bethesda Streetery on a first come, first served basis.
4. “Vaccine” Project: Gaithersburg-bred rapper Logic is set to release his latest project “Vaccine” today. His new album “The YS Collection Vol. 1” can be streamed here.
5. Independence Day Holiday Schedule: Check the schedule for the county government and local municipalities Sunday and Monday before you go anywhere. County and state offices and courts are all closed. Parking at public garages, lots and curbside meters are free Monday, July 5.
