2. Kids Tree Climbing: As part of the Latino Conservation Week, Montgomery Parks’ arborists will be at Long Branch-Arliss Neighborhood Park today from 10 a.m. to noon to help kids learn to climb a tree. The arborists will provide safety gear, assistance and encouragement as they provide kids the opportunity to participate in rope-assisted climbing and experience trees from a whole new perspective. Registration is not required.

3. Remember the Titans Screening: Enjoy a free outdoor movie at the Jesup Blair Local Park on the sports field behind the historic building tonight at 8 p.m. The park is located at 900 Jusup Blair Drive in Silver Spring.
4. Need a Furry Friend? The county animal services center is waiving the fees for cats and kittens through the end of the month.
