2. Dominique Dawes Sculpture: At noon, a sculpture of three-time Olympic medalist in gymnastics and Silver Spring native Dominique Dawes will be unveiled at the Silver Spring Recreation and Aquatic Center.
3. Council Meeting: The county council will meet today starting at 9:15 a.m. with a proclamation recognizing the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The meeting will be livestreamed here.
4. Food Resources: See food giveaway events today in the county.
5. ICYMI: Tall yellow sunflowers as far as the eye can see cover four fields in the McKee-Beshers Wildlife Management Area in Poolesville. Last week, with temperatures finally below 90 or 100 degrees, nature lovers took time to slowly walk around the fields, checking out the flowers and butterflies.
