2. Friday Night Concerts: The DC Mudd blues band performs in Downtown Bethesda tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the corner of Norfolk and Del Ray Avenues.

3. Woodlawn Manor House Tours: After a four-year closure, the Woodlawn Manor House is once again open to the public. The Federal-style house was built in the early 1800s. Explore the home’s first floor and outbuildings Saturday, July 6 with tours at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Fee is $5 per person with tickets sold at the Visitor Center. The house is located in the Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park, 16501 Norwood Road, Sandy Spring.

4. Fireworks: The county’s second Independence Day celebration and fireworks display kicks off Saturday, July 6 at 6 p.m. at Albert Einstein High School in Kensington.  Mid-County Sparkles features live music by Joe Falero and Downtown Sound, followed by fireworks at about 9:15 p.m. Lawn chairs, blankets and cookers are permitted. Alcoholic beverages and pets are not permitted. Only handicap parking is available at the high school. Ride On shuttle services will be available from Westfield Wheaton starting at 5:30 p.m.

5. Meet Clarksburg High’s Praneel Suvarna: This week Praneel Suvarna was sworn in as the 27th Student Member of the Board.
