1. Metro Red Line Service Improvements: Starting today, Red Line trains will operate every 6 minutes until 9:30 p.m. on weekdays, an improvement from every 8 minutes during off-peak daytime hours.

2. Council President Briefing: Council President Evan Glass will meet with the media today at 1:30 p.m. to discuss upcoming Council and committee meetings on economic development and pedestrian safety. The briefing will be streamed on the Council’s Facebook page here.
3. MCPS: Commencements on June 12.
- Gaithersburg High School, 10 a.m. at home.
- John F. Kennedy High School, 10 a.m. at DAR Constitution Hall, featuring Councilmember Gabe Albornoz.
- Watkins Mill High School, 2:30 p.m. at DAR Constitution Hall.
4. Municipal Monday: The Gaithersburg Mayor and Council meet at 7 p.m. for a joint work session on two transportation items. The agenda and agenda packet are available online. The Rockville Mayor and Council meet at 7 p.m. The agenda with supporting documents is available online.
5. Juneteenth Holiday: The federal holiday commemorates emancipation of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas with the news that enslaved Black people in the state were free. Here are a couple videos explaining the significance of the holiday.
