Today is Thursday, June 3 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.
1. MCPS Graduations: High school graduations continue today for Montgomery County Public Schools. Today students from Wootton, Wheaton, Rock Terrace, and Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents receive their diplomas. Families are invited to share their graduate’s photos.
2. COVID-19 Testing and Vaccine Clinics: Free COVID-19 testing is available throughout the county at nine testing sites today. Montgomery County clinics are now vaccinating Marylanders age 12 and older. Appointments may be made online here.
3. Severe Thunderstorms Possible: The National Weather Service is expecting showers and storms this afternoon from 2 to 10 p.m. Some may become severe.

4. Yard Trim Collection: The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is letting residents know that due to a COVID-19-related issue, yard trim collection is behind schedule. It is still ongoing, so if your yard trim was not collected on your usual day, DEP says to leave materials curbside. Some pickups may be delayed until June 6.
