1. Council President Briefing: Council President Kate Stewart will hold a media briefing at 11:30 a.m. to discuss legislative matters, including:

  • Bill 3-25, which would expand eligibility for the County supplement to the State of Maryland Homeowners’ Tax Credit.
  • Bill 6-25, which would extend the Office of Consumer Protection’s authority to investigate landlord-tenant issues, including potential unfair or deceptive trade practices.

The CIP funds long-term projects like school construction, recreation centers, and transportation improvements—separate from the operating budget, which covers yearly expenses.

5. Strathmore Elementary Celebrates Reading: Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) officials visited Strathmore Elementary School to discuss the power of reading and read to third through fifth graders.
