1. Council President Briefing: Council President Evan Glass will hold his first media briefing today at 11 a.m to discuss the historic nature of the 20th Montgomery County Council. The briefing will be streamed on the Council’s Facebook page here.
2. Operating Budget Forum: County Executive Marc Elrich is hosting a series of budget sessions to seek input from residents about the upcoming operating budget priorities. Tonight’s forum takes place at the BlackRock Center for the Arts from 7-8:30 p.m. in Germantown. Register to view online.
3. Holiday Giving: Many organizations are hosting food, clothing and donation drives throughout this month. The annual Rockville drive runs through today.
4. Municipal Monday: The Gaithersburg Mayor and Council meet tonight at 7:30 p.m for a hybrid work session. The agenda packet may be found online here. The city will designate Dec 12 as “Quince Orchard Cougars Football Day.” The Rockville Mayor and Council meet at 7 p.m. for a hybrid session. The agenda and information may be found online. The District 17 state delegation will discuss legislative priorities at 7:10 p.m.
5. MCM’s Last Class of the Year: Our last media class for December, “Capturing Holiday Memories with your Smartphone”, takes place tonight at our Silver Spring Media Lab. This workshop goes over some of the basic ways to use your smartphone as a media making tool. This is a perfect start for someone who wants to get to know how to use their phone as a creative tool or wants to “level up” their smart phone production skills
