1. Mail-In Ballot Canvass: The canvass for mail-in ballots is scheduled to continue today in Germantown.
2. Takoma Park City Council: The Takoma Park City Council will have a special meeting and possible regular meeting today starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Takoma Park Community Center. The meeting can be viewed in-person, on YouTube, the City Council video webpage, Facebook, or City TV.
3. Pro Tip: County Fire and Rescue Service Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer reminds residents to never park their car or truck over a pile of leaves because the heat from a vehicle could ignite the leaves and cause a fire.

5. ICYMI: Laura Stewart, who garnered 57% of the votes registered for the Montgomery County Board of Education’s District 4 seat, told MCM last week that there is a lot of work to be done. Stewart defeated incumbent Shebra Evans, who received 41.5% of the vote.
